At Footsteps Dance School, our musical theatre classes in Sale give children and teenagers the chance to express themselves through a combination of singing, dancing and acting. Designed for students aged 6 to 18, these weekly classes help children develop performance skills, build self-confidence and make lasting friendships in a fun, supportive environment.
 
Musical theatre is the perfect way to nurture creativity, communication and teamwork – whether your child wants to perform on stage or simply enjoy a new hobby.

A Unique Class with a Family Feel

Our musical theatre sessions run as one large group, welcoming all ages and experience levels. This structure helps create a warm, family-like atmosphere where younger students are supported by older peers, and everyone learns from one another.

Children are encouraged to explore their individuality while working collaboratively, creating a positive environment where they can grow both as performers and as people. We focus on each child’s journey, not just their ability, ensuring every student feels seen, valued and celebrated.

As demand grows, we may look to introduce separate classes by age group in the future. For now, the mixed-age setting offers a nurturing and inclusive experience.

● Vocal work to improve projection, clarity and confidence

● Drama activities including character work and improvisation

● Ensemble performance skills to promote teamwork

● Stage presence and storytelling techniques

All classes are led by Miss Cara, our dedicated musical theatre and tap specialist. With a strong professional background and a passion for helping children thrive, she brings energy, encouragement and creativity to every session.

Performance Opportunities 

Students will have the chance to take part in our full-school performances, which take place roughly every 18 months. These productions are a major highlight and a brilliant opportunity for children to perform on stage, in costume, in front of a live audience. 

Every child gets the chance to be involved in the show, regardless of their experience. The more classes a student takes, the more routines they can perform, offering a full stage school experience within a local and friendly setting. 

Practical Information 

● Ages: 6 to 18 

● Location: Sale High School, Greater Manchester 

● Trial: Two-week trial available before committing 

● Group size: Up to 25 students 

●Schedule: Weekly, term-time only
